Don't try to exercise only for health, appearance, doctors orders, etc, etc. Choose an activity you like, something that is fun for you above all else, even if it is not as efficient or as trendy as some fitness approaches. What good is a trendy and contemporary exercise program if you quit shortly after starting it!
