The programs are not necessarily to blame, but rather the mind set about exercise which could be causing this high attrition rate. Observe some younger children who have not yet fallen victim to sedentary habits or obesity. Watch them closely and see that the actual word exercise does not have real meaning to them. They know the word and in some sense what it means, but it does not really have a place in their language. To them playing and having fun is way more significant than the exercise part of being active. It is never a chore to them, never a 'workout', always just plain fun... We would really benefit learning from this approach. Don't try to exercise just for health, appearance, doctors orders, etc, etc. Ensure that it is something you enjoy, something that is fun for you above all else, even if it is not as efficient as the contemporary high tech fitness approaches. After all how useful is an exercise program if you only stick to it for 3 months!
